PC Games Offer Endless Entertainment

As a way of relaxation and having loads of fun, pc games have evolved into a real industry. Online or offline, from simple flash games to modern wonders, the pc games have attracted an impressive mass of followers that are ready to devour the next achievement.

Nobody would have imagined 15 years ago that one would be able to interact with thousands and thousands of other people online with the means of an online game. That’s what technological evolution has made possible nowadays.

If you were to classify PC games, they would fall into more categories, each with its own distinctive type of playing. Although many of them ultimately need you to defeat the bad guys, the ways to do that are many, varied, and in different environments. You can do that anywhere and anytime, from ancient Rome to epic space battles in the different future.

FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS

They are also commonly called “Shoot ‘em up” because of the manner in which you need to approach the game. You have a 1st person view, meaning that you will see the game environment as you would if you were actually there. You are given many different weapons with which you need to kill the bad guys. Although there are many examples of good first person shooters available out there, the Doom and Quake franchises seem to dominate the market.

REAL TIME STRATEGY

In this type of pc game usually you need to build a strong empire with enough fighting force to overcome the enemy. It has 2 aspects, the battle military aspect and the economical one. Usually you need to harvest resources in order to be able to produce different military units capable of running a war. Common examples of this sort of games include Starcraft and the Warcraft series.

RPG

The abbreviation comes from “role playing game.” This is a game in which you start on a character that is weak at first and who gains experience as you progress through the game, by battling different monsters. With the help of the experience gained, your character becomes stronger and stronger, able to fight stronger monsters and enemies, and ultimately defeats evil, which is also the purpose of the game.

A relatively recent development of RPGs is the MMORPG (massive multiplayer online RPG), in which thousands of people fight online in a usually immense world in which you can do anything you want: fight monsters, complete quests, fight other players, and of course gain experience all throughout. Although it has not been the first game of this genre, the most acclaimed game of this type is World of Warcraft which has an impressive community worldwide.

There are many other types of games available out there, I just pointed out the most common of them: racing games, sport games, adventure games, action games and many other types of games form an impressive industry that has truly put the pc games in the first line of entertainment over the last decade.

What Xbox 360 game should I buy?

is Gears really that good? im squemish so i dont know ( i’ve seen the trailers, yuck) but i will buy it if it is a good game and i read that blood and language can be turned off. i want online play, so i dont want any “story” games. but i do want a little bit just so im not online all the time. not mass effect either. and is call of duty 4 any good? (5 is totally out of the question). I want a game that has some serious replay value so that it lasts a life time. i h8 RPG’s, adventure games, MMO’s, and turn based strategy ( if u say final fantasy is not turned base then u are severly mistakened) i got a good solid 70 dollars, which game should i get? oh yeah. and i played the halo 3 campaign and i thought it suks, so im wondering, now that i have live, if multiplayer is good? or im going to have to put up with rude gamers and whatnot?

Well I Would GO with Saints Row 2. Because its fun u can pick the missions when u want and its online and free roam, better then gta4. and I do Agree That Halo’s Campaign Was A Dissapointment…

Three production companies dropped the game during its convoluted development and Activision finally picked it up. Well, the wait was certainly worthwhile, wi…
