How to get a second motivation grader to read?
My nephew is in 2nd year and having difficulty with reading, he can read but not where it should be and frustrated when someone asks him to read because it feels "tested" I'm trying to find ways to help who will have better results, then just give him a book. I thought to teach him some folder / file folder games (http://www.enchantedlearning.com/filefoldergames/) but those on this site is geared toward younger children. Does anyone have suggestions on creating one for a student of 2nd? Or any other idea what to do to get the motivation to read?
Do it sit while you read to him, perhaps at bedtime?? If you get a book that arouses interest, perhaps it is more likely to read on his own.
